Guest Speaker Anne Whalen spoke about her education program called “Stewards of Children”. She said that the US spends $3.4 annually treating Sexual Abuse. She described the program, not as treatment, but as education about this problem. One in four girls and one in six boys are victims of sexual abuse before age 18. Most people do not report abuse. In nearly 90% of cases, the victim knows the abuser. This education is available for anyone. She suggests that individuals involved with children should seek this education.  Please contact awhalen@mvymca.org
